need ideas for stocking 55g tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Oscaroo u u still enjoy having convos with urself. As for stocking ideas, a grammodes pair will be fine in a 55 but will need a divider as they are aggressive breeders. I wouldnt put a fh in a 55 or buy one either. Heres a few options for ya.

Exodens- absolutely awesome to watch them swarm during feedings.
Grammodes- but a pair might be too much but a single male with be sweet. I love my female and will get a male eventually.
Rainbow wolf fish- great predator and can be with tankmates.
Bichirs- make good tankmates for cichlids.
Rainbow cichlids- great colors and great starter cichlid.

I could to this all day.......

I said short bodied FH,they get 6-9 inches long.

And like I said. I would never buy a fh. There are much nicer fish that can be suggested over a ugly fh

Get a nice school of larger barbs something that wiil move around. Pirannah and some cichlids will just hide all the time and when someones sees your tank you will not have to say see the fish hiding behind the rock. lol

Barbs are a good idea but exodens will be the same way times 1000 and impress anyone who sees them

5 Angels or 4 Discus
Shoal of large dithers like Congo tetras, Lemon tetras or tigerbarbs
Pair of German Rams
6 Clown loaches
Pleco

And LOTS of plants

That's some of my stock right now and that's what I plan to have at the end
