Red Texas, jack will beat up cat

I really doubt it would - Most JDs I've had aren't overly aggressive, and those who were didn't mess with anything that stayed on the bottom. Texas get a little too big for a 55.

How about a brasilliensis, and a festivum ?nice looking mellower fish:popcorn:

My poor Oscar died, that's why I'm asking what i should do with the tank

i guess i misunderstood your post then because i thought you said you had another Oscar...

either way i wouldnt put Jacks in a 55 for life but the 75 would be ok IMO.

If it were me i would go with Green Terrors/Gold Suams. Good color, personality, and not overly agressive. and would be fine in the 55 gal for life

Don't JDs and GTs get to be about the same size? The GTs I've owned have been just as aggressive as any JD I've had so aggression could still be an issue.

Yeah If this is a standard 55 it would be better suited for just a single 8-12" type fish or a 5-6" pair. Still would like to know the dimensions of this "long" tank.
