Need info and pics on Amphilophus Lyonsi

I've heard they are endangered in the wild somewhere on here... not sure if that's true or not. I have one at about 2" that I've had for a couple months. Extremely slow growth rate thus far, and mild temperment. Beautiful fish though, I recommend picking one or several up.

I heard that too...im guessing on here too.
 
Yes, according to the ACA Cares list, they are one of two Endangered Central American cichlids ... myrnae was recently added to the list, but lyonsi have been on it for a long time now. Part of the reason is they have a very small natural range.
 
10.99 at my lfs, is that expesive for these guys or does that sound right?
 
Good enough deal for a fish you will enjoy. Go for it.
