NEED INPUT! NEW PrimitiveFishes.com format being tested!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i like it better. it is easy, and there are lots of options to explore with it. once all sections are fully expanded i think it will be a great resource. on things like sturgeons would it incorporate all sp. of sturgeons or just north americas?

thanks Scott, your comments are much appreciated. i am just getting started with the sturgeon/paddlefish section...i am not sure how great of detail i will get for each species, but will try to speak generally about the groups and then focus on a few (but at least list all known species). these are not fish that are normally kept in captivity, but then again the site has moved on from being just a captive care and ID site (which is how it started back in 2003). thanks again--

Sol,

I dont much post on here anymore, but I tend to lurk around. I have to agree with the rest and say, much improved. I like the feeling of simple and clean. Now grow it out, and let's see where it goes!

thanks Chris, and great to hear from you! definitely hoping to take a more dynamic-update approach to the site now...the previous version software setups were both slow and clunky compared to this one, but then again the internet has changed quite a bit in 9 years! definitely planning on adding more info as well as galleries eventually, therefore combining a simple information framework on the fish groups but also sections with collections of photos for the species. LEP.net is up next on the overhaul, and then i just have to migrate the sites to the right domains!--

Any plans to include pics of some fossilized gar this update? Or some of the other hybrids(medius)?

thanks! definitely want to add some fossil pics and info to the sites (hence i left the tagline "and their ancestors")...just a matter of getting pics and info together. that stuff likely won't get added until the main framework and skeletal info for the sites are up.

you can, however, check out the start of renovations on LEP.net, which will follow in similar fashion to PrimitiveFishes. these are on temporary domains that will eventually be moved to the regular domains:
