If you remove the HOT and replace it with a canister of similar power, you won't see much improvement...

If you remove the HOT and add a larger canister (FX5) then you will see improvement...

If you keep the HOT in place and add a similar sized canister you will see improvement...

to be honest, with that stocking, even adding a big FX5 may not solve your issues.

you need more water or less fish.

heck, four 5" tinfoils alone make a lot of waste as you know, never mind everything else in the tank.

see how it goes, but you may need to reduce the stock or upgrade the tank size to get really clear water again.
