Need New Fish Suggestions

yea a snook for sure, i think a salvini would be a little to agressive especially if the severum and jd's are paired up

My JD's havent paired up yet, lately they have been hanging out but no breeding signs yet.

I checked out the Salvini and Festae, both are really nice looking fish. Only thing is I have enough yellow/red fish with my severums, then my Vieja Syn will hopefully color up with some nice red as well. Although if someone were to offer me a Red Texas for cheap then i probably wouldnt care colorwise, haha.

So out of all the suggestions its between the Nics and the HRP's. Would i be overstocked with a pair of each?

I am about 10 miles northwest of Foxboro. I may be interested in those fry, how big are they? Got any pics of the fry or parents. Where abouts in southern mass are you? Im not sure what a festae looks like but i will look into that one, how big do they get?

I am in North Attleboro The fry are all sizes from several spawns 1/4 inch to 1 inch. Most are promised to another member but I can give you a few if you want

Yea ive never had them and they look really nice and probably have lots of character. I try to stay away from your ordinary fish you find in every petstore. I was also lookin at thorichthys maculipinnis but figured they may be bullied too much.


How many HRP's could i keep in my tank, i was thinking 2 pairs.

you could fit 3 pairs... they stay small an dtake along time to grow.... i think 6in was the max size.

Those are from Jeff Rapps I got 6 from him last spring so I am pretty sure they are HRP's. As far as I know Rapps is not known for selling mutts

Do you have any pics of yours?

At first when I saw the pic of Joe Fish's HRP's i thought they looked very Convict like, I doubt Rapps is selling nonpure fish though. Most pictures I have seen of HRP's they are mostly blue or gray with less black bars. Joe Fish's male has alot of coloring too which I had read the males usually are duller in color compared to the female. I know they just came up with some new species as well that look very much like HRP's just from a different area. Amatitlania siquia is what one of the new ones are. I am sure there are some members who can tell, I had been talking with Fishfarm about his wild ones, he seems to know alot about them.
