need new laptop! suggestions?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm not a big fan of Macs for one reason only : Alot of programs i use aren't available for mac.. if it wasn;t for this I'd go mac because they ARE reliable. Go to the mac website and check configs

if i wanted to spend over $1k on a laptop, i'd have gone with a mac. but i like my toshiba just fine. spent $800 for 300GB hd, 4gb ram, 2.4GHz Core2 Duo processor. plenty fast, plenty of ram, and loads of space for pictures, music, movies, and school work. i've known plenty of people with toshiba with no problems

Yeah, but he said he uses programs that aren't available on a mac, and it sounds like its a little out of his price range; to keep on saying mac doesn't help.

This should link to Toshiba Direct. I've never used the site before but you should be able to order right from there. The link should show laptops in the categories for "Less Than $600" and "$600 - $800". Here is the link to Dell laptops. That's what I consider "mid to low range laptops".

I've never owned a Toshiba laptop, but the tech I work with likes them. I would recommend not getting a Sony Vaio. My next laptop will likely be this or less likely this

thks, I did order thru toshibadirect.com, I love toshibas but pricey for my budget now. since lenova took over ibm's pc biz heard they have kept up the quality & now have great value with good features.
