Not sure how I forgot about this forum, anyways, since my life long love for fish, and the river monster shows that Im hooked on I want to get out and hit the rivers and lakes. I know its pry the norm to have dif rods and such for dif areas and fish, but what is a good choice for a set up for big fresh water fish and small, or if you gotta keep them separate then still let me know. I may also get a small boat. Ive got lots of sport shops here but the workers not always so knowledgeable.

I want something strong and I swear if I buy one that sucks I will just end up throwing it on the freeway lol. Something easy but still cool, I am going to be Jeremy Wade. Anyways, Im real good with the great outdoors and wildlife and such so help get me started with this, Ive got free time now and then. Lots of places to go.

Can you get something cool around 100 bucks or no way?

Get ya a ugly stik catfish at a local shop and then get on renegade tackle.com and order a Ming yang cl60a. That rig will handle anything in fresh water with a proper drag setting. A bit big for bass, but can easily be done with larger lures and skill, and panfish so I would also get a nice spinning outfit at your local shop.

Whaat type of fish are you after? It all depends on that.

yep, it really does matter. I have yet to find one combo that is perfect for every situation.... If youre going for catfish, you dont want a light action panfish rig and if you are going for panfish, you dont want a stiff broom stick rod either.

Yeah I know it matters, I was just tryin to see what I could get away with for most places but how bout this then, just whats a good combo for big guys and whats somethin good for little guys? Price range.

I actually have 2 setups that I am trying to sell that may suit your needs perfectly and could probably get them to you for $100 shipped

Again not getting a lot of clarification about what you're targeting.
