Need Opinions - Buying new tank - 100+ Gal w/ prices

Hello,

I just moved into my first home (right by Times Square!) and I am ready to finally get a large tank.

I want something over 100 gallons and was leaning towards a 125 gallon standard (72 x 18 X 22).

I have received the following price quotes:

AGA 125 Gal Black Tank with 2 Overflows - $440
AGA Modern Black Stand - $640
AGA Black Stand (standard) - $290
AGA Versa Top 72 X 18 - $50
AGA FloTwin Black Lights - $90
AGA Megaflow 4 - $400

Therefore, all-in for a 125 Gallon Brand New with a "Modern" stand and filtration, around $1,600.00

What do you guys think?

The reason for the sump and overflow tank is I eventually want to go SW FOWLR - with 1 or 2 panther groupers.

Do you guys have any suggestions or ideas?

Do any of you guys know any deals or sellers near NYC? NJ?

I want to go NEW... but I would go for a used tank if it was a great deal.

craigslist...I see 125 often anywhere from 450-900. Just hold out till you find a nice deal.
 
if you like brand new stuff, get brand new stuff. I'm the same way.

it just takes a bit longer to save, thats all.

but its worth it in the end IMO.

I bought my AGA 150 gallon bit by bit, so by the time I was ready to set it up, I had the filters, lights, tops, stand etc. I just need the tank, gravel, and a few heaters.

I didn't want my 'dream tank' to be someone elses second hand tank and equipment...

besides, IMO with big tanks, you want maximum quality, which in my opinion means buying brand new.
