It takes a few months but you're on the right track. Giving him lots of fresh clean water & feeding him a good diet will make a heck of a difference.
yea. shrimp all the time cos it shared a comm tank with an arowana, and here in asia, arowana's are "above all other fish" in terms of market value and beauty. Hence the arowana's needs came first, before everything else. Also, not sure if those underwater tanning lights we have here in asia would also affect the coloration of non-arowana/ cichlid species.
Beautiful coloration on your oscar though, i guess it takes time.
