i am afraid that i may have to many rbp in my 120g tank i have 14 rb there about 3 in 5 in i have very good filtration but i don't no if i should have that many in the tank i read a lot of different conversations on how many should have in a tank but no legit answers,
also i was wondering what the power heads purpose was other then creating a current?
also i am never sure if im over feeding them or underfeeding them some people say 3 times a day others say that's way to much food.
i have recently changed there diet to pellets instead of flakes to keep the water clear and boost there color and growth good idea?

please help im considering getting rid of a few of my rb but i really don't want to have to resort to that. thanks guys

Yeah you should take your number down to 6, you should have 20g per P. 6x20=120. there'll be more agression as they get bigger and start to crowd each other. if there's not a filter on your powerhead already you can put one on there for extra filtration. and for the feeding, i think you're okay. just when they put another inch or 2 on start to cut back. but hey they're yours, i say do whatever you want as long as they're eating it all. goodluck with em.

your piranhas are way passed the flake stage, its good that you switched to pellets.
here's a sticky that you should read when it comes to what to feed your piranhas

how frequent depends on size of your fish, what are you feeding and feeding amount. at around 4" you can really just feed once a day of course you need to feed more frequent if you are only feeding flakes.
you shouldn't just keep on feeding as long as they will eat, it could result over weight fish with shorter lifespan.
IMO, eventually you don't need to feed them everyday, slowly go from once a day (3-4") to every other day or two (4-5") then once a week (5-7"+)as they get bigger. again it depends on what you feed them and feeding amount.
as for how many in your 120g, it depends on your tank footprint and filtration. you don't necessarily need to downsize if theres not much aggression amount them and the filtration can keep up with the bio load and you like the look of 14 fish in your tank.

ty guys you were very helpful i think i am going to ride it out because as of now they look like they are doing fine, its just a lot of work to keep up with the tank. hopefully a power head will help out a little. i already have 2 filters a canister175g and an over top filter75g.
As for the layout of my tank i think it is sufficient

im new to this web site is there a way to give props to the people who help you?

the picture didn't show, you'll have to use an image host site like photobucket or upload the picture to MFK.
there's no props as far as I know but as long as you stay around and help out each other it'll be great :)

as they grow you may have to remove some decor to create more swimming space.
Whats your water parameters like? I don't think the two filter you have is/will be enough for the bio load you have in the tank. what brand and model are they?

i'm a little confuse on your parameters, whats your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate in ppm?
