Well I come home to my Aro that jumped out. He's only about 4". He was all curled up and I revived him. He's discolored, breathing slowly and swimming slighty every once in a while. I've got him in a breeder pen with air bubbles under it. What else can I do to try and help him get better. I have no salt or stress coat in the house!!

u better bet salt immediately..salt can help the fish breath easier..the gill of the fish might be 'burnt' and can't function normally...

how long has he been out of water? how is the fall height wise?

wow it dosnt sound good was he really dry. u gotta get some salt as soon as u can tho. wish the best of luck, same thing happened to me but i was 2 late, i hate learning the hard way lol

Keep the lights off and don't bother him too much. He's already stressed and eyeballing him when he's weak will just add more stress. Forget the slimecoat for now. That stuff will coat his dry gill tissues and make breathing even more difficult. Salt, temp (80-82), and lights off for the next 24 hours. Don't try to feed him during this time.

Sorry to hear about that. I hope it heals back to normal.

Sorry to say...this but do not be surpised if it goes. Get another one and Chalk it up as a learning experience and remember to ALWAYS, no matter how much the level of confidence, make sure you keep a lid on an arow tank. I am religious about it myself before I leave the room anytime. It happens to all of us sometimes.

ya but dont give up yet to bad there isnt a 24 hr fish store or a mfk 911 force lol

So far so good. I've got the lights off, he's swimming around and just resting in the corner here and there. Luckily this actually happened to my GT. He also came back to life and is doing fine now. Most of the Aro's color came back. Still a little dark but looking good. He was still somewhat limp when I found him but was definitely not breathing. He did have a decent amount of slime on him though.
Time to go to sleep and hope he's good in the morning. If he doesn't make it I'll just have to get that Jardini I wanted:nilly:
Thanks everybody for your quick replies!!

ill pray for him lol good luck

I think your fish will be alright. Think positive! :D Good luck.....
