Need setup ideas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
especially since the rubescens have tended to swim in the open water as opposed to hide out like the mbuna, and it wasn't due to aggression trust me, i watch my fish like a hawk lol

I am sure that people have experience of them together when they are small. I myself have tried that. I am saying in my many tanks that I have tried this for the long run and even 135 is not big enough for the peacocks and mbuna to do well in the long run. However you can complete ignore my advice if you like.

i know it's not recommended to mix the two, but i mixed them when i first started the tanks, and never knew that it'd be a problem until i got more into it, but never had reason to move them

im not ignoring your advice, i know that you know what you're talking about and aren't trying to be a jerk. i know that you are totally knowledgeable about it.

i simply have seen no reason to separate them yet, and would rather condense them seeing as they have done fine previously. with limited tank space it seems silly for me to separate them until need be

if i were to cut out the rubescens, what would be a better idea in your opinion?

i really love the color or the rubes, so i would have to substitute with something bright, my rustys are plain and the zebras are okay, but i want more color.

Go with yellow labs. they always look great in a tank.

How big are the fish you are putting in here? The footprint will limit the number of fish you can have.

my rustys are both 2 in, the lab and zebra are 3in, 2in acei and i want another for him.

but, i might change them up and put them in separate tanks, maybe keep the rustys in the 20, and move the others and a few new one's in the 50...unsure, i'm playing with ideas
