davo, you do know were talking about a corn not a royal, right?

lol
I deleted my post, as like Gourami Swami mentioned, thought it was a royal you were talking about... and so none of what I said was helpful. Got confused with you and fishluvngirl, sorry.

Well I haven't been shoving food at it. Once a week I try and offer it food. I've tried the brained pinkies (mice, no way this thing is big enough to eat a pinky rat). At a month, I was worried, but let it go b/c I had read about the hunger strikes and spoke to a couple different people that didn't seem concerned. Now at two months, I've noticed it's started losing weight, does seem to drink some still. It does have shelter (x2). 90s? I had always read that it should be mid seventies to low eighties.

lol sorry, like I said I got you confused with another members daughters royal that wasn't eating... so I was giving advice for a different snake :screwy: ignore what I had said previously.

Was it eating before you got it, and has it been eating in your care?

What are your hides? and also a 20 long is 30" right (i'm in UK so... different measures)? This may be too big for this individual for what i presume is a hatchling along the lines of 12"?

It ate weekly for the first month we had it no problems. Ate, shed, and hid. Now its more active, won't eat, and obviously hasn't shed (or even appear to be getting ready to).

"when you pick it up does its body feel cold or not?"

Cool, but not cold.

I also noticed that it is becoming emaciated looking. I am going to try to get it back to the vet again this week, but I think the outlook may be grim.

I'd try setting it up in like a small 12" or so tub, see if that makes it more secure.

im concerned of it drinking and being warm enough still. You could place it in a luke warm or room tmp water bowl shalow of course and see if it drinks,i think its body should feel warmer to touch. Now im afraid if you warm it too much and if its dehydrated then what!Im just concerned because i thought my temps were good long ago for a bp but they were too cool.I lost it due to my own fault so i just want to make sure it drinks and is warm enough.Dang im sorry this stuff happens.

Well I got some reaction from the live pinky. He will strike at it if its near him, but more of a defensive strike than an attempt to eat it.

Hmmm...sorry for being to lazy to look around this thread, but has he been eating frozen pinkies before this? Thaw out the pinky, and wiggle it infront of him a bit. But, do not move it towards the corn snake. Move it away, instead. If he hasn't eaten for a while, he should be hungry. I don't know really what to say...does he have bedding to hide under?

I wish you best of luck, I hope all goes well.
