Need Snakehead ID please!!

Hi guys,

Just picked up 4 of these little fellows that was on discount as a shop was closing down. Please help to ID. They are currently about 2 inches long. Babies really. When held up and seen in the sunlight, their lower bodies have a kinda blue-ish tinge.

Its a juvenile Maruliodes, otherwise known as the emperor snakehead isn't it? Correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct; they are marulioides.

I don't have a large tank. But I've got a large pond and will put them in it once they get big enough.

Your very welcome, so these were the shy little guy's, I didn't make the connection until you said that lol . Sometimes i pop in and reply quickly without even looking to see who asked the question ha ha ha !

How are they doing now ?

Hi DC! They are doing a little better. I see them swimming around but dart away when they see me still. Gotta move my hands really slowly when I feed them so as not to freak them out. Though one of them is a bit braver. Jumped up at my hand to try and get the food and I screamed. Got a bad shock. The braver one is growing a lot faster than the others. Probably because he gets most of the food.
