LOL,

That's a good sign though if even one comes around the others will soon follow. If they will come out for food right from your hand then they are already learning to connect you with eating making you a very attractive owner lol.

They will probably come around soon, however this species grows rapidly. If one starts to out grow the others more then you like try feeding right before lights out and leave it over night so the others can come out and eat comfortably and just do small partial feedings in the day. That way when the majority of the food is available they will all feel comfortable eating and tht should keep them growing at the same rate , but you'll still see if they are getting more comfortable with you and when they do you can move the "main feeding" back to normal.

Marulioides,
but why they haven't orange spot at its tail like mine?

Ole'

There is a lot of variation among the species and changes in color and pattern occur depending on age. Many environmental factors can also effect the colors/patterns.

Another major difference that is often a highly overlooked factor is the lighting & camera used to take a pic !

I got a juvenile snakehead that looks like yours, too. Also faint bluish color as you described. Here is a video of my new juvenile snakehead:

So, mine should be same as the one asked in this thread ---- juvenile Channa maruliodes??

Sorry I have to ask and confirm; some snakeheads look similar to me... so need confirmation from experts here in this forum.

Correct fishyman, that is also a Channa maruliodes or "emperor snakehead"

that's completely normal to be nervous at first, especially in a little holding tank with no hiding places.

Make sure he has several hiding places where it can get complete out of sight, also floating cover is HIGHLY recommended, in my experience if there isnt floating cover they frequently make escape attempts. with floating cover they also will calm faster spending more time hovering just below the floating cover instead of in their hiding spots !
