can someone enlighten me on this?

i dont get (understand) the retirement

Mike, imagine being 70. You're old and the company you work for is paying you top dollar. Sooner or later somebody younger and cheaper with more energy is going to come around and replace you. Either that or your simply tired of working!

At that point your screwed, not like you can find another job at that age.

I know you mentioned retirement savings but if you can save any amount for any reason when your young it will be there for something special in the future... but if you need it for a home or business opportunity you will have it too. Always a good idea to tuck a little something away and forget about it.. haha:D

I'm 26, just recently started. My company only matches like 1500 a year for my 401K, but it's 1500 more than whatever I put in. If you have direct deposit, it makes saving money that much easier. You don't have to transfer funds from checkings to savings every Friday, the bank already does that for you, if you set it up that way.

I'd have a good bit saved and rollin, if I hadnt been bored and went traveling for 2yrs. now I'm back at jump almost. But I had a blast.

My nephew is 5 almost 6 and I'm teaching him about saving and investments.

My cousin showed me a lil on investing and what not. Amazing how $1000 can get to $10k. Then ya do real estate and get more money.

Been saving since day 1 of my work life.

So 18 years old.

I started at 27 and My wife started at 21 oh :) shes 22 now :D

It is so nice to see that all you "Older People" are saving... :D :D

Oh how you all make me laugh, Didn’t you guys and gals relies that “retirement” isn’t determined by age, it’s determined by your “passive income” May I suggest all of you going out tomorrow and purchasing a good read called “Cash Flow Quadrant” it is by Robert Kiyosaki.
