Need some advice please

Yea man sorry to say its true the umbee and dovii most of the time do not work in a community. The thing that leads alot of people on with dovii and umbee is they dont get their full aggression till larger while the others you have start smaller. Not saying their is no chance that it has worked for someone, but the only way ive seen it work is in over crowded tanks or systems over 1000gallons. If you have a 24" + dovii or umbee when it wants somthing dead its dead. How big are yours by the way? As far as cafish its hard to say my 16" male dovii has never let me keep one with him long term. The only cat that did was a TSN when the dovii was smaller. Now i can barely put my hand in his tank let alone another fish. Cant be a critic though cause ive kept things together in my time people said would not work and it did, there are always exceptions. I think if I was you i would give the dovii his own tank same for the umbee and get females for each, sit back and enjoy hopefully avoid heartache down the road. The you will also have better luck finding suitable catfish. Good luck with your tank.

Ok cool thanks for all the comments,I filled the 10 footer up about 3 weeks ago so it's nearly ready to go!
Trust me guys I know this sounds like world war 3'but I could not tell u the last time I had fighting or a death from aggression,my umbee,is well over a foot now, same with dovii, the main 2 fish that tend to get a bit nippy,is my flower horn.but he soon gets told, and my red devil.
ANYWAY BACK ON TOPIC,
I'm thinking a TNS,but still Guna do some more looking,I have plenty of BIG WOOD CAVES for the cats to hide in.just no more plecos I've had a million of them, great fish but not big enuff or nasty enuff for my tank!

Ps,I did want the larger tank (12x3x2.5)the shop had,but getting the 10 footer, then plus deliver fee,it blew my budget.
So some any other ideas guys?

Both dovii and umbee are over a foot now.but as I said,I get more trouble from my Fh n Rd,they are like a team, but I must admit the dovii, sorta stays back until provoked, the umbee,he don't really get involved YET,
I'm think with these fellas I'm just going to have Pass on a catfish..

Honestly pal your going to end up with one Umbee or one Dovii, there's simpy not enough space. You should either remove all the other fish aside either one and get it a female or rehome them both and try to maintain a community, if you have the community a clarius cat would be brilliant they're also very cheap. But seriously with the dovii there are execptions with some fish a dovii is not some fish it will eventually kill everything living in its tank unless he can have sex with it or the umbee kills him, good luck.

I really do hope it works out but likely the move to a new tank alone will set off battles as they vie for their new turf. But the best to you and your fish if you decide to try it anyway. Also Dovii and Umbees start to really get nasty aroun the 14" mark so be ready for trouble of they do snap you may only have minutes to act if they decide to!

Well so far they have been fine, dovi(female) has gotten a little bigger lately, the umbie(not sure if female or male) has girthed out a little..
But you guys were rite when i moved them, there was some lip locking, had to use some melifix on some split fins, and bite marks, genrall territory checks nothing major tho..
The problem fish since the move is my FH!
He has exploded in size and aggression,NO other fish in the tank will stand there ground against him anymore..and he isnt the biggest fish!
Atm ive decided against a catfish, simply theres no where left for a catty, all teritories have been claimed...
So im waiting to see how everything goes..
NOTHING is getting added,my tank is full..
If my FH starts actully damaging his tankmates, ill put my divider in to stop the aggression..then figure out my options

tanks dimensions are too smal for those catfish plus its a awful mix to try in a tank that size eventually your gonna loose fish.

Will you post pictures of this tank? I love to see how it's set up and the relative size of all the fish. I'm glad everything is working for you so far. I'd hate to see you lose any of those fish especially after growing them out for so long.

Well so far apart from flowerhorn, these guys have all been together since they were tiny..
I think the move was ruffly a month or so,not real sure, but they have settled in and claimed there condo's hehe!
Ive still gotta spring for a diggy camera,i tryed with my iphone but the picks are just blurry blobs of colour.
On another sad note,im startin to get pixxxd off, with people tellin me it will fail..pfft,ive been hearin that for years,it wont work.this will kill that and bla bla bla..
That is a bad choice of fish! Lol.
Ofcouse i know another upgrade is in order, and this isnt my 1st walk around the block..ive been keepin these fellas for nearlly 2 decades..
Ive have another large tank, ready to be set up,plus a slew of dividers incase ANY bad aggression happens..
Ill let u kno when it fails ok..
To the others members sorry aye, just sick of negative people and there comments..
