Need some advice

Hello everyone I am new here but cant wait to contribute.

Need some advice on a tank I just set up here is a pic:



it is a 70 gallon with a 20 gallon sump in stand I have kept fish before had 20 tanks going one point in my life. Now what I want is a community cichlid tank. I kinda wasn't thinking as I have no sand for substrate and not much rock in there, there is some. I really want it colorful as this is my one and only tank now, I also wanna put like 15 to 30 fish in there. What do you all suggest I stock this tank with? (Cichlid Wise)

Perhaps a small school of yellow labs coupled with a small school of bichardi coupled with a synodonis cat and 3-4 yo yo loaches.

I am just started a african cichlid tank myself,
2 prices of advice i found out today
1. make sure you buy at least 5 to seven right away
2. they have lots of hiding spots

ok what about substrate issue i really dont want to have to pull the gravel and add sand i have kept cichlids before with gravel just been reading alot about sand and specific substarte

sand looks really really really good. Especially with LED light creating a shimmering effect.

They could certainly live with the gravel, but with sand they would love it and it would look very nice. There is some cons to sand but I love the way it looks and how my fish react to it, I recommend getting some.
