Need some advice

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If the monos you get turn out to be a pair when they mature they will more than likely destroy the solo orino as they spawn in a tank this size, either way just give whatever you think a try and be ready to make the smart choices of moving fish if and when the times come.
If the monos turn out to be a pair I will be more then happy and just rehome the orino, so I will try it. If you have some tips and advices ,let me hear them please .
And let’s just respect all the opinions and don’t fight during the Holidays?

Bass grow fast until they hit the 12-14” mark then they drastically slow down. They are ambush predators so don’t need loads of room to swim around and just happily sit around waiting for food. I grew 6 on to 12” in a 6x2 with no issues other than the temensis needed moving on as she outgrew the other bass far to quickly. I’ve kept bass on and off for 8-9 years now so I’d like to think I know a little about the species.... all my fish now are male so I don’t need to worry about breeding. They do have a pecking order but nothing serious. The slowest growing of my current group is the xingu .... hope that helps.

Agreed, my xingu is putting on bulk at a snails pace compared to even the orinos

I’ve not kept an Orino in this group but I have in the past and they grew fairly quickly, Rio meta strain
On average Id say my orinos arent the slowest growing but they definitely have always grown slower than most of my other bass. My azul has grown from 2" to almost 9" in the time it took my rio metas to go from 5" to 7" and my rio negros to go from 4.5" to 7". But my azul grows faster than even my tems

interesting.... my tem shot past my azul, genetics lol
The fastest growing I’d say was my Kel Bahia then intermedia and azul all currently around 15-16” then the Vazzoleri 13” and Xingu 12” although the Vazzoleri is a few months younger (I’ve had this group since September ‘18)

??? Ive kept cichla for multiple years just never as a soul dedicated tank until about 4 months ago? As well as kept fish in general for 12 years. But lets not also forget the dozens and dozens of hours I put into researching each species. No Im not an expert but I know enough to give some advice. Apparently even on christmas people have to be grumpy and unhappy. Owell
Watched you blab stupid **** all over Facebook and here tired of biting my tongue. You kept em for years huh? But ask how many you can cram in a tank? Wouldn’t you know that after years? Wouldn’t you know no wild cichla xingu are making it to the us? Wouldn’t you know azuls are from Brazil not Columbia? Wouldn’t you know intermedia are from Rio casiquiare not Rio orinoco?would you like me to post screenshots of the absolute stupidity you’ve been posting on Facebook?

I like to get feedback to double check? lol and you can be as mad as you want at my sources. You're right the azul turned out not to be wild after I did some digging but following that I double checked everything and found all my other sources are 100%. And Rio Orinoco was the "collection point" given to me by aqua imports, which I believe is a pretty damn reputable vendor. You can sit there crying over it all day but I spend TONS of time researching my fish, not just that I own but the species in particular. Post anything you want my dude, quite frankly I dont care and knowing you wasted your entire christmas harping over some opinions of MY FISH you have after how rude and obscene you're being would be the greatest christmas present in the world. You definitely know more than me when it comes to bass, I hope that experience is enough to outweigh having a trash personality haha. Im not going to derail this guys thread because youre having a hissy fit so why dont you take a problem up with me personally if you have an issue otherwise go do something more productive with your time and try to smile.

Sensitive little boy, Mike tucc is a good friend of mine and he clearly labeled those azuls as Asian aquaculture in case you’re too idiotic to read.
