need some help, cannot find an answer

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
also bumped up the temp a bit, for the BB and the peacocks.

Not going to help with the ammonia. Do you have some extra bio-media and maybe a second filter to hook up? You might need to run down to the lfs...you need enough biofiltration to keep your ammonia and nitrites at zero.

and i believe, that BB needs a minimum temp of 80 degrees to do it's thing, so raise the temp up to about 85 or 86. those peacock bass babies need the higher temps and more oxygen.

??? BB does not need 80 degree temperature to live...how would sub tropical/cold water/native tanks function?

thanks for the help btw, added the extra filter, did a water change, it seems to be going in a positive direction, they arent near the top anymore atleast.

His problem is oxygen depletion caused by amonia, and you think raising the temp to 85 degrees is going to help? He would suffocate everything in the tank.

Also, those of us in the Native forum would be quite surprised to know bacteria doesn't "do it's thing" until temps are in the mid 80's. All our coldwater tanks must be Amonia Havens.

no matter what, the cory is already dead, it may just take a bit until something tries to eat it.. and being alone, it's unhappy too.
