need some help finding a certain car.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
my god you guys really get stiffed on the car prices , i thought the uk was really bad ,but a 95 supra over here would be less than half that price , and fixer up scoobys start at about £3000 ,

also a little word of caution the scoobys are prone to blow engines (melt pistons) the last one i did was £4000 bill to fit new motor . also wrx and sti was never released in auto , just something to bear in mind . what about a mitsubishi gto twin turbo if you want a cheep sports auto ( i take it there cheeper over there ,they start around £1500 over here )

anyway good luck on whatever you go for

We can't exactly import the japanese used cars like you guys in the uk can either.. lol The mitsubishi GTO is the 3000gt over here, also another good candidate. Though again I think pricing over here would be a little more expensive than 1500 pounds, but not over 10k dollars.

How set are you on one of those two cars?
I'm sure with in your price range and automatic request, we could fine you something to play with that has enough gusto to toss you into your seat back.

yeah, if you arent dead set on a turbo supra, but would settle for an NA, you should seriously look into Lexus SC300 and SC400. They are dirt cheap (5 grand buys a decent one) in comparison to the supra, and the 300 has the same engine as the NA supra, the 400 has a nice V8 with around 300hp. Plus they have a timeless look about them, they are 10+ years old, and look as good or better than most newer cars.

Why not a 3000GT vr4? They have 320 HP, all wheel drive and i bet you can find one "close" to 10K depending on what you want.

Have you called your insurance company yet and gotten quotes on how much it's going to be? I was looking to buy an Evo or STI before and the insurance was going to crush me. I'm a 27 year old who has never had a ticket or accident before in his life. I can only imagine how high the rates will be for a teenager. I heard somewhere and I'm not sure the credibility but that the STI's and Evo's have practically the highest insurance rates of any automobile out there.

Most race cars work off an auto platform.....
Um, define "race car"? drag, wrc, nascar, autocross, formula 1, touring cars speedway, stock cars?

Damn I'm glad we can import cars from japan here!!
+1 for the manual too, although I suppose it really depends on what kind of driving you want to do. If you're cruising the highways then an auto will be fine, but if you want to take it to the track or find some twisty country roads for a bit more "spirited driving" then a manual would be a much better choice.

supra even that old around here i've seen go from 20-40k easy, I used to see them all the time. Sometimes you find them 15-20k but they usually need motor/trans work. You prob wont get a supra that runs for that pice, maybe a wreck or shell and build it. Thats what the guy down the road from me is dong, he bought a bare shell and literally bought all the pieces and is building it up now. As for the Sti 10-12k is the cheapest I ve seen them and I ve also looked b/c I wanted one. I like the late 90's model though. I did see a STI for 6k on craigs list but there was something really wrong with the motor. Good luck though =]

$100 a month for a truck, proboably $600+ a month for a teen with a supra.

when i was 18(1998), i was going to buy a 93 mustang gt. i was driving a 67 impala with a 327, insurance was $46 a month. insurance for that mustang was over $650 a month:WHOA:. needless to say i continued pimpin the impala.
