Need some help with a Bagridae ID

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This revision is for the Hemibagrus genus, just wanted to clarify, not for the whole family of Bagridae. Nice link. Thanks, Moe.

From 3 to 32 species. Still scares me to even attempt reading it.

But I am pretty sure Kolt's fish is not a Hemibagrus. It's a Bagrus.

I think you are right. I went through it again, didn't find the species. But I linked it to show him what I had mainly, and so he could go through and see some examples of sketches etc. to see some differences if he'd like, or for anyone else. It's pretty easy to find taxonomic descriptions with Google lol

From Jeff's ad:
Bagrus meridionalis 8" $225 very rarely offered, long term captive maintained Lake Malawi 'kampango cat'

I asked to explain:

Hi Viktor
Yes, I received only one. It was a 'store pet' at a fish shop in Germany for a year. He obtained it on a wild Malawi import.
I purchased it from the owner when I imported a German shipment a couple weeks ago.
Thanks again, jeff

Will anyone, please, take it? koltsixx koltsixx ?

I can't shell out the asking price now even if it was 2x cheaper.
