Don't give up, just cut back on the WC's to your normal schedule.

What are your water parameters? The spike in ammonia from the dead fish probably sent your tank into a mini cycle. I bet you're getting brown algae.

If you are, then Guppy's_hell is right, it will balance itself out eventually like a newly cycling tank.

I think you and the ornate are going to be just fine, he's lucky he has you. :) The other fish... not so lucky to have you.

lmao oiii you! just because you give out good help doesnt mean you need to be cheeky!!! i am the best thing that has ever happened to those fish :D well...one fish now...

Regarding your bichir not eating, try putting some meds to relax the fish... something like an "anti-stress" drops.

I really hope your fish would eat soon. It's getting us worried too. ;(

what sort of stuff should i put in? normally i dont use any of that...but i know my lfs sells some aloe vera stress coat thing for tropical fish....i can get some tomorrow..if it will help him?

Oiii! lol

I agree with you, you are the best thing to happen to those fish... until you let some people use noxious chemicals around them haha. :grinno:

Just kiddin with you Neer :D

I would let it calm down naturally. Does he/she have any hiding spots?

My philosophy is always to keep it natural as possible. Chemicals serve our 'convenience' but aren't always good for the fish.

I doubt the fish needs relaxing, I'm sure it's just trying to adapt to the new arrangements. Are all the tanks growing this mass algae outbreak?

no, actually its only one tank that is reacting in this way...and the water smells foul, too.

Maybe you missed one dead fish?

Well that is good news. I was thinking perhaps whatever killed your fish was causing some sort of imbalance but if only the one tank has the mass algae outbreak it's probably due to high waste or a missed dead fish as Cohazard said. I'd think about moving the fish to another tank if you have a cycled filter on one. Then I'd empty and clean the algea tank and it's filter. Good luck :)

Hey Neervana, how's that fish doing? Hope to hear some good news from you.
