I have had my Oscar fish for 2 months now by himself.Well recently I bought a Jack Dempsey as a tank mate, everything was fine for a couple of days. Now my Oscar is showing sings of aggression for territory. Will this go away by any chance by this week or should I just return the Jack Dempsey?

What size tank are they in, and what size are the fish?

Off topic but A+ username, Burzum is definitely my fav BM band of all time.

Also I forgot to add, this is a 55 gallon tank, this is the first time I seen the Oscar showing the sign of aggression honestly.

Would this be consider a sign of who is the king of the tank honestly?

well if you can get a bigger tank, if not buy some egg crate and then let them live alongside each other and try separating them now and then and see if that works, any idea as to what sex they are?

i just let my sa/ca cichlids battle it out once thing settle they should calm down
ther just letting each other know whos the boss

No I wish I knew the sex, from the looks of it,my Oscar seems to be a much brighter color then duller looking,so I assume that is a male.Well what is quite strange to me is,my brother has two albino Tiger Oscars and a **** load of some other fishes in the tank, they are fine. The problem is though,my Tiger Oscar is a adopted pet,who seem to have live by himself apparently.Tomorrow,I am cleaning the gravel up,I usually do a 10 to 15% water change every week when its possible. So maybe cleaning out the gravel tomorrow, will reduce the aggressiveness.

Well,I notice the JD wants to go into the Oscars territory at times.People have claimed, turning the light on and off usually does the trick,as they say.
