What is this thing, got him at a lfs and was mixed in with midas' and green terror's and was sold to me as a midas :bs: :bs: :bs: .......I KNOW for sure he isnt that but Im not sure what he is. Anyone have a clue? The picture does him no justice but his face is a reddish brown, mostly reddish and his fins are red. He is extremely camera shy so I have a VERY hard time getting a good pic of him.

i have moved this for you mate so it will get more viewings and hopefully get you the right information !

Thanks DanDan, sorry for posting it in the wrong place ><

Dovii88 - Got the fish just at a small lfs.

Angelmine - my ebjd is still sorta small but eats like a pig. We are trying to grow him quickly to play with the big boys, so we do water changes and feed him 2x a day. His blue is changing a little to a not so neon looking blue, but not a dark blue :) He was VERY aggresive (we had him by himself and decided to give him some friends), but has calmed down a bit now.

Thanks for the info ..Got my 2inch blue in my 125 gal with 8in parrot,10 in irr shark,28 in geo,2 8 inch africans,he fear noe of them.....loves frozen shrimp!!!!!!!

doesn't look like either festae or uro to me

redfaced barred midas? Coasta rican barred midas?

this is possible but I'd say unlikely since it was picked up at an lfs. the costa rican red face barred midas was not available very long and Jeff Rapps is the only supplier I know of who ever got them in. that's not to say that there aren't other suppliers who have gotten them or can get them, I'm merely pointint out that they aren't easy to come by.

I think it would be more likely that it is the result of some sort of flowerhorn breeding project.

:)
