I have a pair of dovii (F1 from Rapps Im told) that recently attempted to raise eggs in my 210 gallon tank. They did not get overly aggressive and no one bothered them too much but the eggs failed. I have an empty 40 gallon breeder tank set up at my work that is currently empty but has been set up for a while. The fish are about 6in and 4.5in so not too large yet! Would it be a good idea to put the pair in there alone to attempt to get fry there and if successfull, take the pair back home and raise the fry there? Would the 40 breeder (36"x18"x16") be too small to do this? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

you might try it but with the male growing fast you might get away with a spawn or two but sooner or later the male will kill
