As far as fish to "keep the crap down", you wont find one. Any fish in the tank is going to help contribute to the bio load. Even if you did have a fish that ate poop, he'll just poop the poop back out! Regular tank maintenance is the only solution for that. Being that they are still small and have already killed 2 cories I would'nt put anything smaller than them that moves slowly in the tank.

how bad are pleco's at contributing?

I hear plecos have a pretty heafty bio load once they get bigger. I had to get rid of mine and he was only 7" plus he was a scale eater :irked:

so whats a good bottom feeder then?

so i was thinking wile i was in class learning about shock/trauma management....... what im thinking is black gravel on the bottom, gona get a few small flower pots and see if i can cut them in half and place them periodically along the back of the tank and cover them with more gravel to make some what of a cave type thing for hiding places (might turn out kinda stupid looking and not the way i plan but i shall see) and make this look kinda like a river/streem bottom thing with some various peices of drift wood and various fake plants variously put around the bottom. like i said idk how that idea will turn out so im open to sujestions.
