At one point I considered doing peacocks but I've had them and they can get fairly aggressive too.

The one thing I do like about cyps is that even if they chase each other, they don't really do a lot of damage to each other's fins, etc.

Let us know when you get the dimensions.

How about a species tank of small, peaceful Victorians like Christmas Fulu or Ruby Green?

Those are some awesome looking fish. The fact that their peaceful and have the same basic ph requirements as Malawi made me really interested.

Same problem though -- I can't get them around here. Only online.

Thanks anyway!

Don't be afraid of online...I buy 90% of my fish online and rarely at a LFS.

I've bought from online too. As I started the post, I don't like the sight unseen method. With cyps, there is a huge variation between a beautiful male and a drab female looking one, and until they are fully colored, you can't be sure which way they wI'll turn out.

The online folks, the good ones, don't want to sell just their colorful males. I've bought online and ended up with a bunch of sand colored cyps that I just got rid of.

That's one of my problems.

Well you don't want all-male cyps so I guess I can see their point. What I do is buy 2X as many unsexed juveniles as I want and then rehome extra males.
