I like SMS's idea, so much in fact that I already have kraussii, and spectabilis are coming in the mail. I might have to try the Geophagus community idea. What I would really like are some Nandopsis ramsdeni, but nobody has those. I'm just at the point where I feel like I should be able to do something awesome, but not much is avaliable right now. Even Rapps list is looking a little shabby lately. I'd spring for the Uaru f. if they weren't so freakin' expensive. Any other ideas? Where does everyone buy their cool cichlids from other than Rapps?

How big of a tank are we talking?

Depends on your tastes, I'll never recommend Rotkiels simply because I can't get them over here. Brasiliensis complex Geophagus and Severum's introduce the risk of you getting a glassbanging lunatic fish in a peaceful community, which is not all that uncommon from both of these species.
