First one is a black belt(vieja maculicauda) the second is a washed out vieja synspilum.

Correct, though their scientific name is currently Paratheraps. So you've got a Paratheraps maculicauda and a Paratheraps synspilum. You'd probably get ~$40 for the black belt and ~$20 for the syn if you're lucky.

:iagree: with cichlidsomniac....blackbelt and washed out syns.

Modest_man, I thought regani, argentea and maculicauda stayed in Vieja and all others moved to Paratheraps? Or did the last 3 get moved too finally? I have been a bit out of touch the last year or so.

As for price, yeah I could see maybe $40 for the blackbelt but I'd be surprised if you get too much from the syns unless it's just stressed out and that's why there's no color. I don't see any way it came from Rapps. the synspilum he sells have gorgeous colors at 4" so that one is probably very farm-inbred. Hell I'd take the blackbelt off your hands if I lived closer :) lol

good luck with them
