the only species legal there would be the Osteoglossum ( i hope i spelt that correctly) species of arowana. Which means either the silver or black South American arowana.

I'm not very sure about the australian Jardini or the African species... But asian arowanas are illegal there.

thats nice to know.... if you like asian arowanas a jardini or leichardt is the closet you can get to one...

I've got a silver, love it. However it does require a large tank and has a VERY large appetite. Fun to watch and seemingly peaceful. a great starter aro IMHO

Hi Joel it would take a lot of writing to explain how these fish live and there habbits so i thought i'd shorten it by posting you this link.

Hope there is every thing you need here let me know how you got on if you have anymore queery's please P.M me or post your questions if i can't help you someone else will.

silver and black arrowana are less agressive than jardini if you are keeping with tankmates.

silver and black grows huge, so make sure you have a big tank and no small tankmates.

leichardt imo looks better than jardini but much more expensive.

good luck, which ever you choose, i am sure you will enjoy the peacefulness when they swim around the tank.
