BUT BUT BUT......the scleropages formusus are the best! coloration. someday i will get one when i get rich and famous. so far the ones i got before jumped out...so when you do get an aro, make sure that the top is tight and no place to jump from.

the only species legal there would be the Osteoglossum ( i hope i spelt that correctly) species of arowana. Which means either the silver or black South American arowana.

I'm not very sure about the australian Jardini or the African species... But asian arowanas are illegal there.

jardinis and african aros are available in the U.S

if you live in the states, its illegal to own a asian arowana.

you can keep the silver and jardini there though, they are still great beauties when grown big. =)

Top marks i shall keep a copy of this thanks for sharing, People who have kept Aro's for years would love this, People who have been in the fish keeping hobbie for a long period of time like myself we are still always learning about the fish we keep.

Thanks for sharing.

what would a silver arrowana run price wise as a baby. and does anyone have one that they are willing to sell for a good buy?

On the page:

at the end of Chapter 3, in the part titled "MOVING YOUR Arowana", it says:

"Two days before the move discontinue feeding the fish. "

Anybody knows why you should stop feeding an Arowana two days before transporting it?
Is it in order to prevent it from vomiting/defecating into the small amount of water it is transported in?
Is it because the food could cause some damage internally?
Some other reason?

I would assume that as with other fish you are trying to reduce the ammount of waste it will produce during the move.
