need some info on discus

Yes ill agree that not ALL types of fish are ok in certain aquariums. I think that if you had a 1'x1' tank that was 10' tall i wouldn't recommend it for any fish, but to say all fish aren't ok in smaller footprint tanks is not necessarily 100%. Besides we can't float in all of our space, fish can. I don't even think the tank he is refering to is a 60gal. those dimensions sound a little small (my 75 is 36x15x36). Anyways, im not disagreeing with you im just stating that other possibilities should be considered. I would say in that size tank 6 would be enough. i have 12, my water changes are 5 times a week of more than 100%. fish look like they have PLENTY of swiming space, more than just enough to float.

again not trying to agrue, just simply discussing alternatives.

dont add any aggresive fish in with your discus. I had a 180 and had several indo dats in with my discus and they didnt enjoy it to much. recently i downgraded to a 120 and have no indo dats. The discus are much happier. If you can keep with just discus and if your going to add more fish add docile ones. I tried adding 12 neons for the hell of it but my discus killed them all. So add docile fish if your gonna mix

Thats why i have been using bigger tetras. Like 1-1.5''. My cardinals used to get attacked here and there. Then i added a bunch, and they all got attacked.

cardinals, neons, and rummies are a hit or miss thing. some discus keepers have no trouble while others are providing thier fish an expesive treats. I went with lemon tetras. no discus is going to fit them in thier mouths.
