need some info on Nikon d70

That's the aperture ring. That lens was made for film cameras but you should be fine. If I'm not mistaken, set the ring to the highest aperture (lowest number) and leave it there. For the most part, you'll want to set the aperture through the camera body.

ok so i charged it up an went to take some pics, an it wont, it keeps displaying fEE i read that that means the lens isnt conected correct so i tried again an again. so i read if it still does it means something is broke, is this true an ideas
 
What do you have the dial set to on the camera? If you using a manual focus lens you'll have to shoot with the camera on full manual (the big "M" on the dial). You'll have to set your aperture on the lens and focus using the lens. Using the camera menu you'll have to set your shutter speed and your ISO. You'll also have no metering whatsoever so it's going to be a lot of guessing.
