what do you mean by enough filtration. What is enough for one fish might not be enough for another. It might not be your case, but I feel like 27" is a little narrow for arows. Sweet tank though. I would definitely go for p-bass and large predators tank.

i am new at this i got put on disability so i went out and got a 110 gallon tank its not running yet i am still trying to find out everything i need to have a nice set up tank that is done the right way.

ideas names of large preditors?

3200 gph via, wet/dry , hob's , and canisters,,,,

that tank is fine for an aro!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a 2.5ft specimen can turn around in about a foot of water they are very flexible fish!!!!!!!!!

i would go with the aro some nice dats like a school of 4-5 then like4-5 pbass does that sound overstocked??????

if not i would go with that!!!!!!!!!

do dats, some Lima shovelnose, a few pike cichlids, and a school of fw barracuda

I think I alredy have the shovelnose... ?????

very helpful......

no rays ?

I have heard from some that they are a species only tank and differant from others,,,,

I have to agree with the tank width/aro statement...While IN GENERAL your tank should be at least as wide as your largest fish aros tend to bend the rules quite a bit... I still don't care for cramping them but thats NOT going to happen in an 8 foot long tank. I know Pinky my 20" silver aro can turn around in a 4" wide space between a rock and the back of the tank...

Show us a picture of your shovelnose. Im presuming Tiger shovelnose? If so, you may wanna ease up on smaller fish.

yea its a tiger....

you mean it will eventually eat the smaller fish?
