dont get cons.even though they are one of the easiest to breed,i would go with jack dempseys.very prolific, and extremely beautiful.its not as easy to tell them apart but you would be much happier with them instead of cons.i actually have both, and suprisingly, the jds mate more often than the cons, with bigger batches.the jds are just as protective as the cons, but with more muscle to back them up too.

But I think he's planning to use a 20g tank, which wouldn't be enough for a single JD, let alone a breeding pair.

and im gonna use the fry for feeders for my piranhas cause they eat so much and are getting relly big whitch means more food and more money. i love the look of cons so ill probly keep some of them and sell them to the lfs for credit!

ha hahahahahahahaha.you want to sell cons for credit?thats a pretty lame joke there.i got my cons when they were fry from a lfs and they were 50 cents a peice.you would be really lucky to get a quarter for one.

oh idc at the lfs every friday buy fish under like 5 bucks get one for equal or lesser value for 1 cent!!!

Near me , cons arent seen very often, and if they are they're roughly $5 for a 2" con. Im sure I could supply the market with a steady source of convicts but most shops dont like them because they're a nucence.

Then you're likely not going to sell them for credit. I managed to get really lucky and sold 100 of my fry for 25 cents each, so I got $25 in-store credit. And I consider that really good. If you want alot of store credit, breed Discus or some kind of Apisto. Or Celestial Pearl Danios (AKA. Galaxy Rasboras). You can almost buy a new tank on a batch of Discus at my LFS.

I just bought a pair yesterday from my lfs. They had a tank of pink and regular ones selling for $1.99. Luckily freshwater fishies were half off yesterday, so we got them for a buck lol. The two are playing around in a 15 gallon tank now. Neither is really special looking, but they're just food makers to us lol. I had to use a flashlight to find my female's orange spots lol. Hopefully their fry will make good food for our new Bolivian Rams and all our other little guys.
