As for identification, I believe its obvious, you place a fish in a "large" 5g bucket with no filtration.
Need I spell out for you? I guess so....




Most likely ammonia poisoning, even though bichirs are tougher than most fishes, this is just too much.
That horrible condition would basically push any tough fish to the limit.
And yes, my "high and mighty" advice is to just euthanize, it suffered enough in one lifetime already.

Oh I agree completely that is the proper way... but need to give all the crap with it ... just made me mad friend.. long 14 hour day at work and I just shot off cannon at ya last night man sorry amigo

Yah, looking back at my previous post, guess some of them were rude indirectly. Guess my emotions got the better of me.
Its just that I really love those awesome fishes, bichirs. Kept them since childhood.

NO bichirs (other than frys), no matter what, do not deserve to be housed in a 5g tank
