Ok i am in the progress of setting up a new wet/dry. Got the model 3 sump from all glass, marineland tidepool overflow box and a rio pump 500 to 700 ghp. I can get it to balance for 2 minutes exactly. Then it either drops or rises. I adjust the ball valve according. Then it balances out. Then 2 minutes in it drops or rises. Been doing that since yesterday. I had it turned off all night. And tired again when I got home from work. Nothing. Still the same problem. If anyone has any input or tips. Please share I have hit a wall.:irked:

here is pics(please take note when pics where takin. No connection was sealed. As of right now everything is super tight and no leaks)

Run the pump wide open. That overflow will provide more flow than the pump could ever put back into the tank. Add water to the tank until enough is draining into the sump to feed the pump.

More simply, whatever drains can be pumped back in...... The only problem is when your pump is too big for your drains, and it empties the sump. That shouldn't be your case though.

How can i get the overflow to get max flow. That is one main problem. the tank can not be raised anymore as i am a 1/8 of inch from the top. Can't lower the overflow box any lower then it is. And with the pump running wide open it drains the sump. that is why I am thinking the overflow box is not functioning properly. It sucks air occasional. But all efforts to get it have more flow down the lines does not work.

1 1/2" intakes

1" return

if your overfow box has u siphon tubes make sure there is no large air bubble in it after your start your siphon. this happened to me and my overflow did not work properly. if there is jiggle the tubes till you see the air bubble(s) expel.hopes this helps.

Just out of curiousity how much water is in your sump? If the sump doesn't have enough water in it it will run out of water. I guess what I'm trying to say is that tanks water level will never change but in your sump is where you will notice water level changes such as evaporation. So if to much water evaporates your tank will still be full but there wont be enough water in your sump to cycle any more.
