Need suggestions quickly!

I believe the fine sand for cement mixing is a lighter color. It is very fine sand however, not sure if it would be ok. Any advice??

I don't want the sand to be too fine because I was told it will burn up the HOB filter pumps.

Well, to keep the PH high, I used crushed coral and pool filter sand mixed.

PH buffers.. The ones made specifically for fronts and cichlids... How do they work? Do they keep the PH at a constant? And for how long?

I am really afraid of a PH crash.

+1 for pool filter sand. Its white and heaver so it doesn't get stirred up easily. Plus its roughly $7 for a 50lb bag.

Do you think they might have a white color? I remember once my mom got me sandbox sand and it was a whiteish color, but it ended up being the wrong kind for a sand box. Any idea what that could have been, and would it be usable for the tank?

Which would fronts do better with?

I know it depends on the color of the fish, but I have no clue...

Yup thats the stuff I got and only found it at Home Depot Lowes and Menards only sells brown. Give me a few mins I'm looking for a post I say yesturday with your type of fish on a dark substrate and a white substrate. I'll come back and post it when I find it give me a few mins.
