I need to know how to tell male or female. I have a fish with eggs for almost a week now but, she has dark vertical stripes and I read on line that was the male. I read another one that said the opposite... The only one showing color is the big male. I don't know who to keep with him????

NO!!!! They are not like seahorses? Thanks for your help. When I get close to the tank all the rest change colors and look the same. I am sure I will know the males for sure when I am taking out their little corpses.

The males are yellow with a blue face and the females are silvery brown.A subdominant male can assume female coloration,then you have to vent them to be sure.
