Want to know exactly what he is before I put him into any of my tanks... hes about 16" of pure hell has eaten a 12" volitian lion and many other tankmates well actually he has eaten everything his previous owner put in with him I will be keeping him by himself but still what is he....

That's a gorgeous specimen of Epinephelus cyanopodus. Gonna need a BIG tank as he approaches his 32" adult length.

BTW, it's also called the Speckled Blue Grouper and Purple Rock Cod

I just read that they are on the ICUN near threatened list he is going inot the 180 until he outgrows it then he will have to go into one of the empty frag vats
