What species could I use? I'd like something that stays around two inches to keep my adults safe. I'd feed it, too, of course, but my 55 is a cloud of guppy-endler particulates. Too many fry are surviving.

The tank is neutral pH.
55g, light filtration.
Only a Raphael cat, a giant otto and the guppies.
78º
Strong lighting to encourage algae.

Any ideas?

Danios will take care of your problem.
And if it's a 55 gallon, you could get some type of pleco, so long as you have shade for him and he dose'nt grow larger than 7 inches

perhaps a south american bumblebee catfish, yet it could take out smaller guppies too most likely

Oscar!

If there are two-inch adult oscars out there, sign me up! :)

Danios sound like a good idea. I'll look into that.

swordtails or bumblebee gobies which loves to prey on guppy fry

Maybe a pair of small gouramis? like the dwarf gouramis, Colisa lalia, which get to be about four or five inches from what I heard (the ones I kept in the past never got to be more than three inches). They are relatively peaceful and are pretty colorful, but would take out the smaller, slower fish if given the opportunity. The males may fight though.
