Live foods trigger better predator behavior, and doesn't rot if uneaten.
Bloodworms are about as nutritious as toenails. Blackworms are much better if you can find them, or even tubifex.
I have a stubborn ray that would not eat anything for almost 3 months. The only thing I could get it to eat was ghost shrimp and that even took forever to get her on those. So I started killing the ghost shrimp so that it would start eating food that was not moving. Within 3 days of doing this, she was eating frozen foods like shrimp, krill, and scallops. Before I started killing the ghost shrimp, she wouldn't touch anything else. Won't work for everyone, but it did for me.
