This shine thingy only can be seen when the aro is mature?
If so, then how do buyers know what they are paying for when choosing a juvie aro?

a juvie i believe a good quality 8-10" would show some signs of shine on the 5th scale.. IMO a 12" RTG should show you if it's a HB or not.. and there are different types of RTGs.. some would say Purple base and some have blue base.. please someone correct me if i'm wrong..

I thought that HBRTGs are normal RTGs crossed with a Crossback Golden? Pretty much it's a normal RTG with shine extending into the 5th row of scales. They are becoming more common even in Australia.

When i bought my HBRTG at 6inches it didnt show much shine on the 5th level, it was only specs of golden shine at most. Now that it's grown to around 12 inches, the colour on the 5th level is really starting to pop out more.

If it's all about money, why would someone wanna hybrid such fish and why not just crossback with crossback where you can sell more for the babies?

Anyway, just take it with a pinch of salt on this HBRTG are RTG x Crossback.;)

Maybe the thinking was to make a more expensive RTG by crossing it with an xback to get that 5th level shine? In Australia people are willing to pay more for a HBRTG.

In Singapore are HBRTGs much more expensive than classic RTGs? Maybe in the near future HBRTGs will be too common and demand for the classic RTGs will pickup.....

Here, HBRTG are slightly more expensive than RTG..
But if you say that HBRTG are crosses between rtg & xback, then it would make sense on how the breeders know what they are selling even if the aro doesn't have 5th level shine..

Let me shed a little light here. Golden aro's genes pool is strong. Cross with any aro also will give you more towards gold. For gold genes is more dominating.

What asia aros are also having high shine and have weak colouration display?

This is not a new thing but it had happened long long long time ago.

So you slowly make a guess on what I mentioned.:grinno:
