Appreciate all the comments guys, keep them coming. I had decided on #1 but have been leaning toward #2 this week. #2 is the aggressor most of the time so he's a little feistier.
As for keeping them longer, I can't because I don't have anywhere to put one and not throw off the balance in my other tanks. They face off with one another every now and then so I don't want anything happening to either of them. No jaw locking or chasing, just stare downs.
