thanks guys I have had him since 2001-2002 so he has been with me for a while. I assumed he was reticulum just becasue of the ultimate size. he is not growing much more but doesn't appear to be stunted.

I am actually looking for a good home for him. I fear I will not be able to properly care for him much longer. (P.S. he will eat anything, he killed my 15inch silver arro) I mention it just incase someone is interested in him.

Yeah, he looks great. His tank looks awesome as well.

I know that the different species are different sizes, but, if its a reticulum, then I would definitely say that he is stunted. He's still very good looking.

I am sure he is some just given he is in a 120 wide. But he doesn't have the signs of a stunted fish.

I used controled feeding until the last year when trying to get my gar off live. He has gotten bigger since then. pretty quick.

I am wondering if what you have is not a P. reticulatum, but rather a P. fasciatum. Here is a link on from scotcat that has a photo of a larger P.fasciatum. It looks very much like yours.
http://www.scotcat.com/factsheets/pseudoplatystoma_fasciatum.html

These cats get to about 4 feet when mature.

Both species are very similar indeed. As of now it could be either, but I am going to stick with reticulatum, fasciatum has more vertical lines and large spots on it's sides, while reticulatum has more of a wavy pattern.
