need wet dry help!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
sounds like the overflow box is too small or the return pipes are they both flowing and are the returns lines equal length also the length are they the shortest possible and do they have a direct path to the sump
i would check with the supplier to find out was size overflow is needed for your pump

Their should be a fill line on the side of the sump.

OK went to start up my filter this morning and the pump is pumping way too fast. I had it almost turned all the way off. The overflows couldn't keep up. Here is the overflow I have.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...sPageName=MERC_VIC_RSCC_Pr4_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT
And I have a little giant pump 3MDQX-SC pumps 1100@ 1ft. That thing empties out the chamber in no time. What did I do wrong. Here is a pic of the sump. There is the bio chamber thena divider that water spills over a foam block then the chamber where the pump pulls from

Get rid of the hot tub pump...

What would happen if I added a second u-tube into each overflow box. 1" pipe should handle 600gph correct? If you look at the pic in the link I placed, there are actually 2 boxes and each box has one 1 1/8 u-tube.

I finally figured it out!!! I had an old US Aquariums 600gph overflow that someone gave me so I temporarily hooked that one up as well. Man that thing was flowing like crazy! It was a bit loud though. So I've come to the conclusion that the overflow I bought is junk and does't flow nearly what it had stated. So my question now is do I use the old 600gph one and buy a second and run 2 or is there a better one to buy that will actually flow 1200gph. I f I keep the one how would I quiet it down? The water just rushes thru the bulkhead and there is no prefilter on it.
