I have a 75 gallon tank that is stocked with 12 african cichlids I have been using 2 bio wheel 400's emperor's and i just got a eheim 2217. Could the new eheim keep the tank good on its own for month untill i get the 2nd one?? I have the tank 3 feet from my bed so the noise is the issue with the 400's. Oh and if it makes a difference I do a 50% wc weekly.

Possibly dangle the biowheels in the outflow of the canister. Also, if you can take your filter pads and put them inside the canister, that would help a lot too! (not sure how eheim canisters are, but it's fully possible with Fluval canisters) Maybe you will have to cut the filter floss off the cartridges, and place them in the canister that way.
