United Species of Arowana
Got a tip from a buddy, so I went to raid a LFS this afternoon, and found this solid 17" pellet-feeder gem waiting for a ride home :D

Very nice JL. What species of goonch is it?

Thank you. It looks like yarrelli, but it's darker and has more speckles than my other yarrelli. Really cool color

Nice pick up jl!

Ive never seen one that big on this site! (Granted I AM new :) ) why does everyone on here who get small ones disappear and we never see them full grown?

While I don't pay much attention to Goonch threads, I'm guessing it's a combination of things. As has been said they're not very active so some probably get bored with them before they get big and rehome them, they don't grow as fast as some other big cats so it takes longer between a juvy thread and a subadult thread and they've only recently become easier to obtain so very few have had them longterm. Just my opinion, as I said I don't hawk Goonch threads so I maybe mistaken.
